Zoom Alain Gomis: Tey

Tey, directed by Alain Gomis, FR/SN, 86 min., wolofi + EN subtitles

French director with Senegalese roots Alain Gomis, devoted his work to life in Africa, stigmatized to various levels by colonialism. Today is the tale of Satché (played by the rapper and poet Saul Williams), who is facing his last day of life. He wakes up in the morning as every day, in his birth house, says goodbye to friends and family, takes a last walk through the city, confronts romantic memories in order to find internal peace. Gomis created a film, which is both gentle and playful, where the love of life mixes with the melancholy of the impending end.
