Futurit: Does pop music need capitalism to survive? + A4 WINTER PARTY
entry: pay what you can
Music can survive without capitalism, but musicians can’t, because they are paid for gigs and not to make music, unless they find a good sponsor.
Those other utopian systems have their own models for music, though we can only imagine most of them. Totalitarian and dictatorial regimes are not and never have been open to individual creativity. Who is swimming against the current of the established order today? Is it possible to survive without large publishing houses owned by corporations? What can be alternative models of music production and distribution? Find out at Peter Dolnik’s Futurit music lecture (in Slovak).
