The work of the two pioneers of video-art, Steina and Woody Vašulka dates back to the late 1960s when they lived and worked in New York. Before that they had met in Czechoslovakia where Bohuslav Vašulka from Brno studied at FAMU and Iceland born Steina studied violin. Even though they are often labeled as the great-grandparents of the “generation YouTube”, the world of art had almost forgot about them. With humor and composure they deal with the lack of finances and attempts to preserve their analogue archives for the future. Collectors and the biggest galleries had only discovered their work in the recent years. The film examines the shift in art and the society with the advent of video – from the sixties till now.
