The acclaimed duo of auteurs Gejza Dezorz and Agda Bavi Pain present their epic puppet drama about the Second World War.
There is a very thin line between love and hate. Sometimes what divides them is betrayal or superiority, other times it’s the barbed wire of concentration camps. In the times of the real war the abyss deepens and can only be overcome by common sense and human emotion free from social constructs and prejudices brought by our civilization.
The story of a young Roma man and a German soldier which takes place with the backdrop of historical events in Horthy’s Kosice during the bloodshed battles of Dukla defile tells the story of an unequal love affair between two men standing not only on two different barricades but also on the opposite sides of social hierarchy.
The new play by Dezorz’s puppet theatre introduces an unconventional experience to the Slovak theatre scene and brings the viewer to the end of the Second World War and into the divided society with cinematic optics and video-projections in the style of puppet live cinema.
