Herritages: T. G. Masaryk and progressive Slovensko

entry: voluntary entry

Where do the roots of liberal democracy and liberalism go in Slovakia? Teacher and a president T.G. Masaryk was at the birth of a generation of Slovak intellectuals full of dreams about mental reconstruction of the society: balanced positions of women and men, mature parliamentary democracy, woke civil society, European integration.

Heritages are a new cultural-educational format that involves reading and interpretation of archive materials and shows the gravitation of Slovak writers to humanist and democratic values, aiming to draw parallels and connections between past and contemporary political issues in Slovakia.

Presented by Mgr. Lukáš Krajčír, PhD. from Institute of History of the Slovak Academy of Sciences
