Zoom Céline Sciamma: Petite Maman

On the occasion of the release of her newest film, we will recall some of the older films by the French filmmaker Céline Sciamma. In her work Sciamma deals with the themes of coming-of-age, fluidity of gender and sexuality and female friendships and love. 

Her most recent film Petite maman is an intimate drama, a journey into the children’ world. Nelly had just lost her grandma and is helping her parents to clean up her mother’s childhood house. As she explores the house and the woods that surround it, she meets a girl her age in the woods one day –  building a house from tree branches on her own.
