Dolcissime sirene / film by Debris Company (dance for camera), 40:04 min

Film captures the group working on their project in its final film form in 2022, immediately after its theatrical derniere, in cooperation with filmmakers.

Theatrical dance performance dolcissime sirene is based on some parts of the text by Ottavio Rinuccini Intermedi da la Pelegrina, a libretto set to the music by the musical humanist, director and organizer – Count Giovanni De Bardi, written for the occasion of the historical wedding of Ferdinand Medici and Cristina di Loreno. Formally, the performance is loosely inspired by the text and the search for other dramatic interludes of Platonic idealism and philosophy of life in the theatrical/musical form.

The contemporary message of the work La Pelegrina from 1589 was originally the announcement of the return of the golden age as a signal for the return of joy and optimism in life – a symbolic way out of the cage of the Dark Ages.

The fight between good and evil has always been just a struggle of the individual vs. individual within themselves. Politics and the struggle for political power can only come close to this war, but they can never become a subtle part of it.
