On the Adamant & discussion with League for Mental Health

entry: 3€

Directed by Nicolas Philibert, FR, JP, 2023, 109 min
French with Czech subtitles

The ship Adamant is a day stationer. The unique barge is located in the heart of Paris on the Seine, where people suffering from mental disorders meet. Nicolas Philibert, one of the most famous documentary filmmakers of today, presents a welcoming community, atypical especially in that patients co-create their care. Here people are encouraged to exchange ideas, to participate in artistic and cultural activities, and some even come together to do the accounting for the association. Muriel, François, Sébastien and Frédéric are not just patients, but real people who are able to think, feel, create and have a sense of humor. The winning film from the Berlinale festival brings a story of everyday joys and sorrows in the intimate atmosphere of the cabin of the ship Adamant, shattering the old notions of “madness”.

The screening will be followed by a discussion co-organized with the League for Mental Health, in cooperation with the distribution company Filmtopia.
