In the gloom of the Estonian smoke sauna, a UNESCO-listed phenomenon, women share their innermost secrets and intimate experiences. Through ancient rituals, they wash away the shame hidden in their bodies and regain their strength thanks to a sense of sisterhood. Anna Hints’ documentary, awarded the Directing Prize at Sundance, is a mystical journey into a space where one is free to confront inner demons and anxieties.
