Freefilmers Ukraine / Solidarity screening vol. 4

entry: pay what you can (>2 €)

Freefilmers is a collective of filmmakers and artists, originally from Mariupol, Ukraine. For the last five years they have been working with themes of urban transformations in Eastern Ukraine and its multicultural vibes. They have explored working class creativity and the industrial past and present of post-socialist cities. Their current projects focus on memories and archives beyond official historical narratives and gender violence in patriarchal capitalist societies. They have always held positions of anti-capitalism and intersectional feminism, and their aim has been to create a different form of filmmaking, based on a collaborative and ethical approach. Since February 24, 2022, when Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, they have been dedicated to helping the most vulnerable groups affected by the war. At the fourth edition of the program, marking the second anniversary of the start of the war, we will be screening a film by Freefilmers and affiliated independent female filmmakers/filmmakers.

Proceeds will be donated in full to Freefilmers.

The digitalization of kino inak was financially supported by the Audiovisual Fund.
