Debata_A4: Slovakia against the environment

entry: pay what you can

The environment is at risk! The cause is not only the impacts of the ubiquitous climate change, but in the case of Slovakia the current threat is also the government’s proposal to amend the Environmental Assessment Act – EIA. In a shockingly fast-track procedure, the Ministry of the same name wants to eliminate public and municipal influence in the process of assessing the possible impacts of new construction on human health or the environment. And not only that.

What is at stake in the draft legislative changes and why do the proposed changes undermine the rule of law, democracy and binding international conventions?

This discussion will be in Slovak. Dramaturgy and moderation: Bohdan Smieška
