A4 Zine: Knitwear workshop by Ivana Janigová and Tina Zsapka

entry: voluntary fee

This knitwear workshop is part of the second edition of A4 Zine Launch 2024. The workshop is led by the designers Ivana Janigová and Tina Zsapka. They are also featured in the printed edition of the zine, where you can discover their collections and artistic process.

Join us for an immersive, hands-on knitwear workshop. Collaboratively create a collection of experimental clothing out of knitted materials, which are prepared in advance by the artists. The final works will be photographed and featured into a fashion editorial. The works will also be exhibited at the Zine launch on 6/12.

During the workshop, we will create approximately five pieces. In case of a larger number of participants, you will be divided into groups. Then two to three people work together on a single piece. You can also sign up as a pair or a small group in advance.

The workshop lasts for about six hours, including a one-hour lunch break. Lunch is not provided.

Programme

  • workshop introduction and methodology
  • technological introduction: properties of knitted fabrics and assembly techniques
  • experimental draping of knitted materials based on presented options and available knit pieces
  • ‘fitting’ or garment try-ons, and a photo session
