Paris, 1985. Vanessa is thirteen when she meets Gabriel Matzneff. The fifty-year-old renowned writer, a very clever and manipulative man, seduces a young girl. The teenage girl becomes the lover and muse of a man celebrated by the cultural and political establishment. As she loses herself in the relationship, she gradually begins to realize how destructive and abnormal the situation is, until she finally sees Gabriel Matzneff for the predator he really is. Vanessa now faces a long journey to free herself from his influence and heal from her suffering. An adaptation of Vanessa Springory’s book of the same name.
