A series of three short films. Language: fr, sk + eng subs, 73 min

The Demons of Dorothy (dir. Alexis Langlois)

Dorothy is a film director and a bit of a lecher. One evening, invigorated by a bottle of Heineken, she starts writing a screenplay when her fun is spoiled by a phone call from the producer: enough queer comedies, it’s time to start making mainstream films! To avoid falling into the deepest depths of despair, Dorothy seeks solace in her favourite TV show, Romy the Vampire Slayer. Unfortunately, her own demons make an appearance.

House of Velvet (dir. Ivana Hucíková)

A portrait of the first Czech-Slovak ballroom house Kiki House of Velvet. Moments from the lives of the members of the house flow from the dance to the narrative, from the dreamlike to the real, from the individual to the collective. Through insights into their daily lives, the film traces the contrast between the outside world and the security they find within the house and the community.

The Struggle is the End (dir. Arthur Thomas-Pavlowsky)

It’s June 26 and the boxers and boxers of the Boxe Massilia collective enter the boxing ring, which is set up in the Labour Office, accompanied by a cheering crowd. But what if a different, more decisive and fundamental fight is taking place through this ancient spectacle? The protagonism of the short documentary sheds light on the positive impact of boxing as a tool of (self-)defence against discrimination and violence, but also of community building and the practice of physical activity.
