Luca Guadagnino (Give Me Your Name, Rivali) comes up with a modern film adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ world-famous novel. 1950s. American William Lee (Daniel Craig) spends his long days alone in the hot streets of Mexico City. His life changes when he meets Eugene. The young student awakens a new passion in him, but William’s love brings with it many uncertainties and question marks.
“Queer is a story of lost love and last love and mad-about-the-boy obsession, featuring an excellent performance from Daniel Craig – needy, horny, moody, like his Knives Out detective Benoit Blanc on steroids and with something of his portrayal of Ted Hughes from 2003’s Sylvia.” (Peter Bradshaw, Guardian)
