The YMCA association represented a significant cultural, spiritual, social, educational and physical education phenomenon in the Czech and Slovak space of the 20th century.

The scientific conference aims to bring these forms closer, using the examples of the local organizations in Czechoslovakia, as well as place the association to a wider time and space context.

Special emphasis will be placed on the Bratislava YMCA association, which in December 2023 commemorates the 100th anniversary of the opening of the building on the corner of Karpatská and Šancová streets in Bratislava.
