Take a piece of an ornament, sink it under the sea level, let it foam and let the sun rays break on the waves of the sea, let there be a more or less familiar melody played somewhere in the distance, let it get broken down into the smallest molecules with the tide… “Flamenco is quite heavy” the locals say “ I don’t like it”.
SoLamenco is a journey to everydayness for oboe and electronics, the holiday that became life, where everything solid melts, expands and turns into abstract, moving particles that come together again to reform into something new. papu rapu is a play on oboe and romance in the middle of a busy street where a sewer system construction takes place… Quotes, clichés that flow one after another, a loss of structure and improvisation. The story takes place somewhere in the south of Spain.
The realization of the composition SoLamenco was financially supported by public funding in the form of a stipend by Slovak Arts Council.
The second concert of the evening will be the performance of the ever-changing resident in A4 – Bratislava’s improvisation orchestra, developing the best traditions of improvised music in its various forms.
