FRESH AIR: Grandma Lo-Fi + Pawel a Wawel

In her 70 years Grandma Lo-Fi started recording her own music. 7 years later, she had 59 albums and more than 600 songs – excentric myriad of catchy compositions made by sounds of pets, founded toys, kitchen percussion and Casio keyboard. Her name is Sigrídur Níelsdóttir and she is the iconic person of Icelandic music scene.

Film Pawel a Wawel brings unique scenes and sounds from journey to Iceland It is documentary gesture and performative strategy. This transgenre film diary, road movie and documentary project is from film festival initiated by Krzysztof Kaczmarek, who is asking „What is difference between Pawel and Wawel“ and who travels more or less unsuccessfully around the island with Polish classics.

Film screaning takes place within the project Fresh Air: Current trends in music, film, theatre and new media art supported by grants from EHP and state budget of Slovak republic of 160 430 €.
