Nina
Directed by Juraj Lehotský, SK/CZ, 82 min., Slovak
Nina is 12 years old, her parents are getting divorced and the world she knew is falling apart before her eyes. Her father and mother keep telling her they only want what’s best for her, but it’s like they are only thinking of themselves. Nina doesn’t understand them, she feels alone and lied to – no there is almost nothing she can believe now. The only sure thing in her life is swimming – it gives her a feeling of calm and support and replaces everything she is missing at home. When her participation in a swimming meet is threatened she decides to take radical measures.
