Living in Emergency: Tales of Doctors without borders

Free entry

A unique film capturing the work during the conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Liberia. The film follows four overlapping stories of doctors, who are attempting to provide emergency medical aid under extreme conditions. Two of them are new to the team: 26-year-old Australian doctor, who is stuck in an outlying clinic in the bush and an American surgeon from Tennessee, who is struggling to cope with the huge numbers of acute cases in a devastated capital city. The two others are experienced team members: dynamic mission leader, who is trying to keep morale high and the tension within the team under control and an exhausted veteran, who had seen too many horrors and desires to leave. Slovak member of Doctors without Borders will follow the film. You will have the chance to ask him about his experiences from missions or about anything that may interest you about the work of Doctors without borders.

Organized by the international humanitarian, medical organization Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
