Bristols Encounters is one of the leading European festivals of short films. The Deaf Shorts Showcase program tries to bring attention to the community of deaf person and deaf artists. Eight short films, live action, documentaries and animated, offers an insight into the lives of people who society often neglects to notice. The selection includes the winning, and Oscar-nominated film of the program – The Silent Child from Chris Overton.
