One of our favourite authors Denis Côté made a collective portrait of a remote village in snowy Quebec that is left shaken after the death of 21 year old Simon and it doesn’t help when some inhabitants start meeting strange people around. A ghost story made by Côté is not a horror but rather a sensitive study of coping with tragedy. Côté is interested in lonely characters with untold secrets, atmosphere of abandoned places, borders between reality and fantasy and the possibility of telling stories without being literal.
