Punctum contra punctum [lat.] — Point against point.

A compositional technique used in polyphonic music, combining two or more separate, simultaneously sounding voices on a harmonic basis into a single musical unit. The independence of the voices lies in their melodic expressiveness and rhythmic difference.

“He already had it in his childhood. He prayed for it to stop.
Children have voices too. Clean your room.”
