About the artist

Mara Ingea was born in 1997 in Beirut, Lebanon. She works at the intersection of installation, object design, and performance. She draws inspiration from reality, which she seeks to reinterpret, focusing on more than just human beings in order to question their place in the world we coexist with, while also rethinking the spaces we live in. Her multidisciplinary work connects the political and the poetic, the environmental and the experimental, the social and the spatial.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic arts and animation from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) and a master’s degree in directing auteur and object theater from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (DAMU). She currently works between Lebanon and Europe, where she collaborates with international artistic teams as a director, performer, and stage and costume designer.

Her installation Puzzles won the Best Student Exhibition award at the Prague Quadrennial 2023.
