Alice Guy: 13 short films

entry: presale 4 € / 3 € reduced // at the venue 5 €

Directed by Alice Guy (FR), 1898-1907, 50 min, fr + en subtitles

Thirteen short films by director Alice Guy from 1898 to 1907, the first known female feature film director in the history of cinema. It was she who suggested to Léon Gaumont that he start making short stories from scripts. In her time, she could direct, and that is an extraordinary fact in a profession that is still predominantly male. She would reign over Gaumont’s productions until 1907 as director, art director, screenwriter, and experiment with special effects…

The event is organised in cooperation with the French Institute.
The digitalization of Kino inak was financially supported by the Audiovisual Fund.
