We will open the new season in A4 with concerts of two distinctive line-ups of overseas avant-garde.

Indonesian project Senyawa, pushing the boundaries of the tradition of ethnic and experimental music, now for the first time in Slovakia. Both energetic and mystical folk-metal cargo, the hypnotic fusion of cultural heritage with the visionary application of self-made bamboo instruments has long attracted attention around the world. They have earned critical acclaim from authorities such as Rolling Stone and Electronic Beats, as well as the Ars Electronica festival. Imagine Hun-Huur-Tu’s guttural vocals crossed with Swans-like “guitar” riffs, but seasoned in collaborations with world stage aces like Stephen O’Malley, Damo Suzuki, Keiji Haino and Melt Banana.

SENYAWA – X + (Wukir Suryadi feat. Xhabarabot) is a special set that presents Senyawa in a different version, as a collaboration between the organic and the synthetic. A set that will be performed without the presence of Rully Shabara. Senyawa – X establishes a direct connection between human interaction, the raw materials of nature, and the digital world. It prompts reflection on humanity’s role within nature and our digital extensions; a tangible expression of how we amplify our natural abilities using technology.

Equally distinctive is the slow and hallucinatory music of the duo CS + Kreme, whose performances have a reputation for being an extraordinary, even transcendental experience. Australians Conrad Standish and Sam Karmel discover ever new formulas consisting of slowly developing motifs of strongly atmospheric doom jazz, ambient, trip-hop and some strange slo-mo post-punk with occasional “otherworldly” vocals, sometimes reminiscent of the suggestive positions of the legendary Coil or the music from David Lynch’s films.

Dear visitors,

The leadership of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic is taking steps that are destroying Slovak culture! Their power interventions and changes in laws threaten our functioning as well as freedom and diversity of art. We protest against this course! The cultural centers associated in the Anténa network call on you, our audience, not to stay indifferent. We call on you to follow current events, visit our cultural spaces and discuss.

Stay with us and let’s fight together for free culture.
